Yang was one of the most famous and illustrious scholars of Chung Kuo, the Middle Kingdom. The Book of Han devotes half of a chapter to the man, signifying his importance in the eyes of the imperial China. One of the epithets bestowed upon him was "The Confucius of the West." He composed the Canon of Supreme Mystery, or T'ai Hsuan Ching, the natural next step in the great work of Taoist binary cosmology laid out in the I Ching, which has its roots in prehistoric China. Undoubtedly the ternaries come to us from a long line of scholarly research that preceded Yang's time, but it is Yang himself who buckled down and laid the groundwork for this incredibly revolutionary work.
The 729 hexagrams form part of the backbone of The Abrahadabra Institute's focus research and ultimately our future destiny for decades to come, so this little tome is an all-important cornerstone for any member's work and studies here at TAI.
The book is now out of print, but many used copies still exist. This was the first English translation of the oracle of the T'ai Huan Ching and it's still the best. This important book has been so inundated with controversy a decision was made to ultimately pull it from the racks and it is only now available as a used copy. The controversy chiefly surrounds the treatment of the third "jen" flow type which Waters has identified as pertaining to Man while Nolan has it identified to Earth. The argument she has put forward to corroborate her one-line zinger is - nothing. She has no argument at all, except for the "logic" that if Yin is once broken in the I Ching, the twice broken line "must" be Jen. This illustrates a grave misunderstanding of the nature of the three flux values. This is an invaluable book that is sufficiently ahead of its time as to render it a sleeper for the general public, for now. For Abrahadabra Institute members it is a cornerstone of our work and curriculum. For those looking to better understand how the Lo Shu (river diagram) fits into things this is the consummate book on that question and we will just have to live with an underscoring controversy for an unknown period of time yet.
Because this book is out of print, only used copies exist. We regularly buy up fine to good copies and offer them here for students to purchase. We guarantee that your copy will have a cover that is both intact and firmly attached to the rest of the book, that it will not have excess highlighting or underlining, and that no pages are missing or damaged.
